Eunice Lee Parks

Mrs. Eunice Lee Parks, 94, of Dalton, departed this life Wednesday morning, Nov. 25, 2009, at the local hospital.

Mrs. Parks was born April 17, 1915, in Union County, the last surviving child of the late Wayco and Hattie Hampton Byers.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Parks Sr., sons-in-law, James Bagley and Herbert Dean, brother, Johnny Byers, and sisters, Ruby Rollins and Pearl Raper.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Syilvea Bagley, Doris and Herbert Dean; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Glenda Parks, all of Dalton, Henry and Brenda Parks Jr. of Resaca; special cousin and friend, Don Byers; special friend, Carolyn Vines; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Eunice Lee Parks will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Cochran and the Rev. Tommy Russell officiating.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Whitfield Memorial Gardens with her grandson, Josh Dean, Matthew Eubanks, Andy Dean, Mike Dean, David Parks, Blake Bagley, Chris Stanley and Jonathan Bagley serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday.
