William C. Headrick

Mr. William C. Headrick, 82, of the Dawnville Community, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Gary Headrick; parents, Jesse and Otis Headrick; sister, Mildred Fountain; and brothers, Eugene and Dickie Headrick.

He was a member of Cleveland Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Headrick served four years in the U.S. Army during WWII and also served four years in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant. He retired from E&B; Armstrong after 30 years of service.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Janie “Crickett” Wilson Headrick of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Janice Headrick of Dalton; sisters, Maggie Wimpy of Young Harris and Marie Shields of Blairsville; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Arnold Murphy of Blairsville; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Gail Headrick of Lookout Mountain; and nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Groce and Rev. Lawrence Wagnon officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jack Dorlon, Danny Fletcher, Kenneth Wilson, Brian Whitmore, Tony Day and Anthony Headrick.

Burial will be in Ball Play Cemetery. A white dove release will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
