Donald Eugene Williams

Mr. Donald Eugene Williams, 62, of Dalton, departed this life Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at the local hospital.

Donald was born March 17, 1947, in Whitfield County, a son of the late Wesley and Annie Mae Allen Williams. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Wesley Williams Jr. Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Williams of the residence; son, Keith and Sherri Ann Williams; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Shawn Whaley of Dalton; Richard and Patricia Williams, David and Lisa Williams of Chatsworth and Paul Williams of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Gary Crider, Martha Bramblett; stepsister and stepbrother-in-law, Michelle and Al Teasley of Dalton; stepfather, Albert Smith of Dalton; grandchildren, Lindsey Whaley, Ashlynn Whaley, Kamryn Whaley, Austin Williams and Abbi Williams; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Donald Eugene Williams are Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Chastain officiating.

He will be laid to rest in the West Hill Cemetery.

Military graveside rites will be provided by American Legion Post 112.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m.
