Carol Whitener, 69, of Dalton died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at her home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Greenie Phillips; daughters, Cynthia Ann Whitener and Deborah Elaine Burns; brothers, James and Raymond Phillips; sister, Virginia Ruth Young.
Survivors include her husband, Charles A. Whitener of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Austin and Rhonda Whitener of Dalton; mother, Evelyn Phillips of Chatsworth; sister, Brenda Bowen of Chatsworth; son-in-law, Ronnie Burns of Dalton; grandson, Shannon Pettit; great-grandchild, Elizabeth Pettit, nephews and nieces.
Services are Sunday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Chatsworth with the Rev. Nathan Headrick officiating.
Burial will be in Sumach Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.
Jones Funeral Home of Chatsworth is in charge of arrangements.
