Troy L. Moses




Troy L. Moses, 77 of Dalton and formerly an Etowah resident, died Tuesday evening Nov. 17, 2009, at his residence.

He was a son of the late W.F. and Maggie Crockett Moses.

He was a native of Etowah, Tenn., and had lived in Dalton for more than 30 years.

He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

He was a food supervisor with the U.S. Army.

He was a retired U.S. Army of 24 years, having served in the Korean conflict and three tours of duty in Vietnam.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; brother, Reese Moses; sister, Eva Lou Fowler and first wife Ruth Holmes Moses.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Mauney Moses of Dalton; daughter, Patricia Moore of Dalton;

grandson, Rodney Lumpkin of Limerick, Pa.; two granddaughters, Missy White of Sumner, Gina Seritt of Dalton; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Betty Moses of Etowah, James and Katherine Moses of Etowah.

A memorial service is Friday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Dalton. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Parrish Hall. The service will proceed at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dean Taylor officiating.

Graveside service is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Green Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Dean Taylor will officiate.

The family will receive friends Saturday at noon to 12:45 p.m. in the South Chapel prior to the service.

Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery with a full military service.

The family suggests that memorials be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church c/o Quilting for Others or Carter Hope Drug and Rehab, P.O. Box 852, Dalton, GA 30722.
