Jesus called and Momma answered: Mrs. Virginia Lee Dockery, 61, of Dalton went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, from her son’s residence while surrounded by her loving family.
She is preceded in death by her wonderful parents, Joe C. and Sadie Crowder Maddox; three brothers, Wayford, William and Mel Maddox, one sister, Annie Lloyd.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 38 years, Raymond Dockery of Dalton; two sons, Jason (Krista) Dockery of Dalton, Calvin Stephens of Cohutta; four grandsons, FN Robin (Shalane) Mosley, Pfc. Daniel Oliver, Cameron Thompson, Dylan Dockery; one great-grandsons, Braxtyn Mosley; two brothers, Clarence (Dianne) Maddox of Dalton and James (Jackie) Maddox of Calhoun. She leaves behind one special sister and best friend, Mary Ruth Clemente of Resaca who could always make Momma laugh.
We will gather to share our memories of such a beautiful lady on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home.
Services to bid farewell will be Sunday at 5:30 p.m. from the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery on Hall Memorial Road, Resaca, with David Stephens and Lamar Patton officiating.
