Ramona Lynn McPeak Connor

Mrs. Ramona Lynn McPeak Connor, 52, of Rocky Face, died Monday, July 7, 2008 at her residence following a battle with kidney failure and cancer.

She was born Sept, 14, 1955 in Wurzburg, Germany while her father served in the United States Army.

Mrs. Connor was preceded in death by her father, Raymond McPeak.

Survivors include: her mother, Elisabeth McPeak, Dothan, AL.; her husband, Terry Connor of Rocky Face; one daughter, Ryan McPeak of Rocky Face; one step-son, Christopher Connor of Panama City Beach, FL.; two brothers, Robert McPeak of Florence, KY., and Charles McPeak of Destin, FL.; five brothers-in-law, Mike (and Patti) Connor of Glen Ellyn, IL, Tim (and Christine) Connor of Omaha, NE., Denny Connor, Pat (and Marjorie) Connor, and Kevin Connor, all of Indianapolis, IN.; one sister-in-law, Ann (and A. B.) Connor Short of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Connor was an award-winning journalist, serving as a photographer, reporter and senior editor of the Dothan (Al.) Eagle from 1983 until 1996. Additionally, her professional career included work in the banking industry and she owned a children's clothing store in the late 1990s.

A private memorial service will be held Wednesday at Love Funeral Home with Father J. D. Triujillo officiating.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 6 to 8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, Hwy. 58, Suite 101 Chattanooga, Tn. 37416.
