Mabel Wright

Mrs. Mabel Wright, 63, of Resaca, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 2, 2010, at Hamilton Medical Center.

Mabel was born in Gilmer County on Aug. 19, 1946, daughter of the late Clifford and Hazel Parks Davis Jr. She was employed by Hamilton Medical Center as a home health care nurse and was a member of Resaca Church of God. Besides her parents, her brother, McNoel Davis, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Wright of Resaca; two sons, Daniel DeFore and his wife, Debbie, of Rossville, and Danny Wright Jr. and his wife Carla of Dalton; two daughters, Susan Miller and her husband, Daniel, of Palatka, Fla., and Renee Deal and her husband Michael of Dalton; one brother, Jimmy Davis, and his wife Brenda of Dalton; three sisters, Brenda Dempsey of Dalton, Betty Cadden of Chatsworth and Mary Ruth Penson and her husband, Willard, of Rocky Face; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Diane Wright, Stevie and Angie Wright, Diane and Byron Brown, all of Resaca, Kathy and William Rittenhouse of Ellijay, and Ken Page of Dalton; several nieces and nephews.

Services are Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Belcher officiating.

Burial will be in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Jimmy Lou Allen will have charge of the music.

Pallbearers serving include Dewayne Dowdy, James Muse, Eric Davis, Byron Brown, Tony Rogers, Stevie Wright, Daniel Miller Sr. and Daniel Miller Jr.
