Earl James Parrish Jr., 58, of Chatsworth, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Hamilton Medical Center after a battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Sr. and Cecil Naomi Davis Parrish; brothers, Don and Dennis Parrish, J. Fred Parrish; and one sister, Wanda Wilson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 19 years, Lisa Parrish of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, April and Jason Parker, and granddaughter, Alison Parker, all of Chatsworth; brother, Marvin “Bud” and wife Shirley Parrish of Ramhurst; sisters, Catherine Jones, Carolyn and husband Tony Townsend, all of Chatsworth, and Bernice and husband Lavon King of Tunnel Hill; sisters-in-law, Patsy Parrish of Red Bank, Tenn., Dawn and husband Bill Edwards of Ashmore, Ill.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leonard and Darlene Sargent of Sullivan, Ill.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Mr. Parrish was a member of Eton Masonic Lodge No. 509 F&AM; where he served as Worshipful Master in 2000. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and visiting with family and friends.
Services to honor the life of Earl Parrish are Friday at 6 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Pastor Edwin Puckett and Pastor Stephen Parrish officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Central Community Church of God of Prophecy Building Fund.
Burial will be in the Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon, Ill.
