Mrs. Phyllis Jean Martin, 54, of Dalton, departed this life Wednesday morning, Feb. 3, 2010, at the local hospital.
Phyllis was born Sept. 23, 1955, in Dalton, daughter of the late Robert and Ada Martin. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Spence and Roger Martin; and sister, Marcella Serrit.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Sue Martin of Chatsworth, Tim Martin of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva Bennett of Chatsworth, Joyce and Alan Strickland of Dalton, Brenda and Ronnie Martin of Villanow, Kathy Stewart of Dalton; special niece, Breanna Stewart; great-nephew, Trey Martin; several other nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Phyllis Jean Martin are Friday at 11 a.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Spence officiating.
She will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
