Opal Mary Allen

Mrs. Opal Mary Allen, 91, of Dalton, departed this life Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at Regency Park Health Care Center.

Mrs. Allen was born Oct. 11, 1917, in Oconee County, S.C., a daughter of the late Robert and Naioma Lloyd Spivey. She was also preceded in death by her six brothers and five sisters.

She was a member of the Eastbrook Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Mike Lyle of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Sandra Allen of Calhoun; grandchildren, Kimberly and Rich Schlegel, Cain and Mandy Allen, Jason and Tonya Parker, Keith and Tami Lyle; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah Kate Schlegel, Lyle Schlegel, Josh Allen, Cheyenne Allen, Brody Allen, Brookelyn Allen, Mckayla Hall, Mackenzie Hall, Macey Hall, Haley Parker, Hunter Parker, Keith Lyle Jr.

Services to celebrate the life of Opal Mary Allen are Saturday at 3 p.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the West Hill Cemetery with Keith Lyle, Cain Allen, Jason Parker, Josh Allen, David Dugger and Jeffery Dugger serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive at the funeral home Friday from 6 until 9 p.m.
