Mrs. Mona Denise Hampton, 48, of Dalton departed this life Tuesday morning, Dec. 1, 2009, at the local hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Mona was born Oc. 8, 1961, in Whitfield County. Mona was a 1979 graduate of Murray County High School. Mona and her family owned and operated the Biscuit Box in Chatsworth. She was a member of Calhoun Church of Christ.

Mona was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Jason Hampton and Christopher Cale Hampton; her father, Robert Edward Cloer, and her father-in-law, Ray Hampton.

Mona is survived by the love of her life, her high school sweetheart and husband of 31 years, Robert Hampton of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Anthony Sides, Kelly and Ryan Young all of Chatsworth; mother, Barbara “Bobbie” Cloer; sisters and brother-in-law, Susie Thomason, Tina and Lee Fields; mother-in-law, Margie Hampton all of Dalton; nephews, Josh and his wife, Ashley Thomason of Adairsville, and Dillon “Mo” Fields of Dalton.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mona Hampton are Friday at 2 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Minister Scott Sides and the Rev. Donald Young officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Montana Sides, Shane Cloer, Alan Cloer, Steve Noland, Kenny Noland and John Noland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
