James Larry ‘Lighting’ Landen

Mr. James Larry “Lighting” Landen, 64, of Tunnel Hill, departed this life Tuesday morning, Nov. 3, 2009, at the local hospital.

Larry was born March 25, 1945, in Whitfield County, a son of the late James Roscoe Landen and Juanita Daisy Hooper Bryson. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Jesse Jet Bryson.

He was a retired truck driver with Mohawk Industries.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Powell Callahan of the residence; son, Dale Jerome Landen of Chatsworth; daughter, Lisa Kay Acree of Marietta; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Ray and Linda Landen, Terry and Joy Bryson, Perry and Vickie Bryson, all of Tunnel Hill, Steve and Sandra Landen of Rocky Face, David and Martha Landen of Adairsville; nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Larry Landen will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Lillard Stringer officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday.
