Lizzie Louise Stinson

Lizzie Louise Stinson, 99, of Dalton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Hamilton Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 24, 1913, to the late John and Mammie Swift. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Stinson, and son, Richard Dennis Stinson, as well as several brothers and sisters.

She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church for 78 years.

She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and the Rev. Bobby Ballew, Rebecca and William Brackett, and Mary and Kenneth Arnold, all of Chatsworth; daughter-in-law, Ruth Stinson of Ringgold; sister, Pearl Vineyard of Dalton; grandchildren, Cindy (Danny) Gazaway, Gary (Karen) Ballew, Tony (Jill) Stinson, Melisha (Danny) Mason, Chris (Stacey) Arnold, Marsha (Tommy) Phillips, Daryl (Beth) Ballew, Kim Arnold, Teresa (Mike) Larmon, Regina Fleenor and Brandy Springfield; 23 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Gardner and the Rev. Walter Hare.

The body will lie at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 9 p.m.

Burial will be at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
