Opal Neal Jeffery Pinson

Mrs. Opal Neal Jeffery Pinson, 76, of Dalton, departed this life Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at the Chatsworth Health Care in Chatsworth.

Opal was born Nov. 17, 1935, in Dalton, a daughter of the late George and Eva Wood Neal. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Burl Jeffery in 1959, and Charlie Joe Pinson in 1975; brothers, Ed Neal and Wayne Neal; and daughter, Elizabeth Pinson.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Tommy Jeffery of Dalton and Kenny Jeffery of Tunnel Hill; daughter, Alfreada Jeffery of Dalton; brother, Willie Lee Neal of Dalton; grandchildren, Ryan Jones, Brandon Pinson, Brandy Salazar and Leah Gillespie; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Opal Mae Pinson with be held today at 1 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Dr. Danny Cochran and the Rev. Clayton Brown officiating.

She will be laid to rest at the West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel today after 10 a.m. until the service hour.
