Franklin D. Darnell

Franklin D. Darnell, 71, of Resaca, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Darnell; brothers, Gene, Howard and Herschel Darnell.

Mr. Darnell was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Darnell of the residence; daughters and son-in-law, Kimberly Brower of Resaca, Lisa Bentley of Dalton, Sonia and Fermiond Smith of Hemingway, S.C., Lori Carter of Resaca; sons and daughter-in-law, Courtney Carter, Jr. of Resaca and Gary Carter of Cartersville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Edward Pollard and Faye and Richard Patterson, all of Dalton, Lenora Greene of Rocky Face; brothers and sister-in-law, William and Teresa Darnell of Dalton and Delmar Darnell of Dawnville; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The funeral to honor the life of Mr. Darnell will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Cochran officiating.

Burial will be in Little Prospect Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be rendered by American Legion Post 112.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m.
