June Marie Guess Miller



Mrs. June Marie Guess Miller, 90, of Dalton, departed this life Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at the Chatsworth Health Care Center.

Mrs. Miller was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Murray County, a daughter of the late Robert Newman Guess and Emma Lou Ash Guess. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil C. Miller Sr.; sisters, Betty Gilbert and Ruby Lawless; stepsons, Marion D. Miller, James “Jimmy” Miller; stepdaughter, Juanita Sue Dyer.

She is survived by her children and spouses, Patricia A. Beavers, Robert “Willie” Miller, Travis and Kim Miller, Norman Miller, all of Dalton, Donna and Nathan Parker, Larry and Sharon Miller, all of Chatsworth; Steve and Linda Miller of Rocky Face; stepchildren and spouses, Delano and Frances Miller of Rocky Face, Cecil Jr. and Dorothy Miller, Gayle Miller, all of Dalton, Benny and Linda Miller of Ohio, Bobby and Joyce Baliles of Chattanooga; in addition a “THUMP” — granny’s word for a lot of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.         

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. June Marie Guess Miller will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with the Rev. Robert Clark officiating. She will be laid to rest at the United Memorial Gardens.  

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a favorite charity or the Ronald McDonald House in Chattanooga.
