Linda Dixon Cline

Linda Dixon Cline passed away at her home on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012.

Linda was born on March 16, 1934, in Dalton, one of seven children, to Henry and Millie Dixon of Resaca. After high school, rather than go to Kansas City and become an airline attendant for Eastern Airlines, Linda married James (Jim) Cline on Oct. 12, 1953, building a legacy of marriage and family for more than 59 years. Linda had two sons, Mike and Greg, and became a pillar of strength for Jim and her boys. She ceaselessly demonstrated her abiding devotion to her family, supporting each of their interests and dreams passionately and generously. Many know Linda from her faithful work at S&W Pharmacy, and later Maret’s Prescription Shop, both in Dalton. She greeted customers with a smile and a willing ear for problems great and small. Linda will be dearly missed by the many lives she touched.

Linda is survived by her husband Jim; her son Mike and daughter-in-law Sondra Cline of Rocky Face; son Greg; daughter-in-law Jennifer Cline and grandson Zachary of Suwanee; sisters, Ruby Parsons of South Carolina and Rosie Swanson of Dalton; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Services will be Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert Gillean and George Ross officiating. Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 4 to 8 p.m.

You may leave the Cline family a message on the tribute wall, upload photos or light a memorial candle at www.julianpeeples.com.

Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel of Dalton, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
