Max Hammontree

Mr. Max Hammontree, 87, of Rocky Face, passed away Monday, Feb, 6, 2012, at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tissie Travillian Hammontree.

Mr. Hammontree attended Rocky Face Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army/Air Force and was a POW in World War II.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Judy Hammontree of Rocky Face and one granddaughter and her husband, Amie and Chris Beavers of Villanow.  

The family would like to thank the staff of Pleasant Valley Assisted Living for their special care.

The funeral for Mr. Hammontree will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Goss and the Rev. Jim Brinkley officiating.

Burial will be at Dunnagan Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.  

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, Mount Vernon United Methodist Church Building Fund or Rocky Face Baptist Church.
