DALTON —

Mr. John Henry Parks, 84, of Dalton, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Flood Parks; parents, Henry and Lara Marr Parks; sisters, Ruby Charles and Hazel Wofford.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Ronald Bennett of Resaca, Clyde Parks of Dalton, Ronald and Edna Parks of Chatsworth, Randall and Halicia Parks of Dalton; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Parks of Michigan, John and Juanita Parks of Bakley, Fred Parks, Bobby and Hazel Parks, all of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maganline Norton of Dalton, Betty Jean and George Witt of Tunnel Hill, Paula and Robert Davis of Dalton; several nieces and nephews.

Services are Monday from the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Spangler and the Rev. Lamar Beason officiating.

Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today after 5 p.m., all day Sunday and Monday until the funeral hour.
