James Daniel Simpson

Mr. James Daniel Simpson, 66, of Dalton, departed this life Saturday afternoon, Aug. 18, 2012, at the local hospital.

He was born July 3, 1946, in Harriman, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Joseph Jefferson, and his mother, Mary Elizabeth Webb.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Brock Simpson; daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Dewayne Demease, and Valarie and Wesley McKee; grandchildren, Thomas Turner, Jolonda Brim, Jessica Simpson, and Carl and Alex McKee; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Nickie Brock, David Brock, Barbara and Leroy Jones, Brenda and Simon Jatta, and Judy Douglas; and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life Mr. James Daniel Simpson will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the New Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Tuck and the Rev. Marvin Brock officiating.

He will be laid to rest in the church cemetery, and Wesley McKee, Dewayne Demease, Lynwood Thomas, John Weatherington and Alex McKee will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
