Sue Wood, 72, of Dalton, and formerly of Raleigh, N.C., passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at Gordon Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Wood.
She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Wood of Chatsworth; son and daughter-in-law, John and Joan Wood of Cohutta; grandson, Brian Shew Jr.; and granddaughter, Ashley Ridley.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Briar Creek Cemetery in Raleigh, N.C., with the Rev. Donald Cashwell officiating.
The family will receive friends today at Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel, Dalton, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Amedisys Hospice of Dalton, 1510 N. Thornton Ave., Dalton, 30720 or to the local hospice in Raleigh, N.C.
