Dorris Idell ‘Dot’ Fraser



Mrs. Dorris Idell “Dot” Fraser, 81, of Chatsworth, departed this life Saturday morning, Feb. 4, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  

Dot was born April 8, 1930, in Chattanooga, a daughter of the late James and Mary Hanna Minnis Layman.  

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Andy James Fraser Sr.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a loyal friend.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Tina and Gene Arnold, Arvilla Patterson and Kim Fraser, all of Chatsworth; sons and daughter-in-law, Andy James Jr. and Michele Fraser of Chatsworth and J.E. Pritchett of Cartersville; sister, Bonnie Wooten of Dallas, Texas; loyal caregivers, Kim Fraser, Ashleigh Fowler and Tina Oliver of Chatsworth; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dorris Idell “Dot” Fraser are Monday, at 2 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the Murray Memorial Gardens with Andy Fraser III, Phillip Arnold, Eric Applewhite, Less Fox, Andy Fowler and Trey Alderman serving as pallbearers.  

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and after noon until the funeral hour Monday.
