Mary Rebecca ‘Becky’ Brackett

Mary Rebecca “Becky” Brackett, a resident of Old Fort, Tenn., passed away Thursday afternoon, Feb. 14, 2013, at the residence.

She was the daughter of the late Mattie Harper Green and Arnold Green. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Brackett; her sisters, Chassie Payne, Laura Green, Oma Phillips and Edith Jones; brothers-in-law, Cecil Payne, Ed Phillips, Lawrence Jones and sister-in-law, Anna Lee Green.

She worked for 30 years as a seamstress for American Uniform. She enjoyed going to church, being with her family, working in her vegetable garden, canning, crocheting and sewing. She attended Blue Ridge Primitive Baptist Church in Chatsworth.

Survivors include her son, Alan Brackett of Old Fort; two brothers, Howard “Gilbert” Green and his wife Viola of Chatsworth, Talmadge Green of Crandall; several nieces and nephews and a special thanks to caregivers, Karen and Glen Jones.

A remembrance of life service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Leroy Elliott and Elder Ed Smith officiating. Interment will be in Dill Cemetery with Walter Jones, Glen Jones, David Smith, Kelly Smith, Dean Green, Steve Green, Rex Jones and Brian Smith serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes, which is in charge of the arrangements. Guestbook may be viewed and signed www.jimrushfuneralhomes.com.
