Nancy Souther Darnell

Nancy Souther Darnell, 80, of Cohutta, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Hamilton Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Darnell; parents, J.H. and Vinnie Souther; brothers, Grover, Horace and Gordon Souther; sisters, Ann McMahon and Veola Carlock; and grandson, Dustin Darnell.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Davis of Dalton, and Shirley and Ronnie Knight of Cohutta; sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin and Myra Darnell of Rocky Face, and Ricky and Sarah Darnell of Dalton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ailene Darnell of Cohutta, Sue and Edward Pollard, Faye and Richard Patterson, and Lenora Green, all of Dalton; brothers-in-law, Delmar Darnell and Billy and Teresa Darnell, all of Dalton; grandchildren, Mandi Bowen, Holli Knight, Derrick and Tina Darnell, Meagan and Jonathan Raburn, Jordan Darnell and Melisa Morrison; and great-grandchildren, Christian, Jarred, Kaylee, Gavyn, Ethan, Kyle, Kylee Rae, Loralei and Colin.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. John Souther officiating.

Burial will be at United Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The family asks that flowers please be omitted and donations be made to Hamilton Hospice, P.O. Box 1168, Dalton, GA 30722.
