Maxine ‘Mackie’ Binns



Ms. Maxine “Mackie” Binns, 80, of Dalton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012.

She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Rufus Whitener and Mrs. Lucille Whitener, and two sisters, three brothers, aunts and uncles.

Survivors are her children, Mrs. Shelva (Samuel) Savage of Horn Lake, Miss., Mr. George Binns of Tunnel Hill, Ms. Janice Binns of Dalton and Mr. James Binns of Norcross; five grandchildren, Okema Fields, Phillip Brandon Fields, Essence Bonds, Denesha Binns and Benjamin Powell; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Helen King, Mrs. LaWanda (Joseph) Williams and Mrs. Cathy (“Penny”) Cummings of Dalton; special friend, Mrs. Ida Bonds; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A home-going service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. Charles McAfee and Dr. Jerry D. Jones Sr. officiating.

Her remains will be at the funeral home on Saturday after 11 a.m.

Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery.
