Rita Fields

Mrs. Rita Fields, 62, of Dalton, departed this life Monday, March 18, 2013, at the Hamilton Medical Center.

Rita was born May 31, 1950, in Dalton, a daughter of the late Howard and Mary Bell Shoemaker Redwine. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Rebecca Burton and Glenda Curtain.

She retired from J&J Industries after 30 years.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Herbert Fields; son, Scott Flowers of Dalton; daughter, Elizabeth Chadwell of Caryville, Tenn.; brother, David Redwine of East Ridge, Tenn.; sisters and brother-in-law, Wilma Elliot of White, Wanda Hurst of Cleveland, Tenn., Sandra Welch of Resaca, and Patricia and Rick Martin of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Jacob and Adrianna Flowers, Joanna Chadwell, and Liea Chadwell; great-grandchild, Alyssa Bossier; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Larry Marlin officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m.
