Viva Marygold Evans



Mrs.Viva Marygold Evans, 93, of Cleveland, Tenn., and formerly of Dalton,, departed this life Sunday morning, Jan. 29, 2012, at the Life Care Center of Cleveland in Cleveland.  

Viva was born June 15, 1918, in Dalton, a daughter of the late Alvin G. and Ruby Irene Johnson Wells. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn W. Evans; daughters, Annie Holverson and Glenda Sue Baker, brothers and sisters-in-law, James Edward and Willie Mae Wells, Alvin Coy and Freddie Wells, Shelley Rube and Ruby Wells, sister, Julia Lanie.  

She was retired from Shaw Industries and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her very special friends and caregivers, Annette and John Stimmel, James E. Dillon, all of Cleveland, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Viva Marygold Evans is today at 2 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Lonnie Starnes officiating.  She will be laid to rest beside her beloved mother at the Antioch Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends at the funeral home after noon today until the funeral hour.
