Walter L. Stafford

DALTON —

 Walter L. Stafford, 48, of Cisco, formerly of Calhoun, died March 19, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Stafford was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Stafford Joyce, and father, Clarence Stafford.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Stafford of the residence; five children, Christina Davis, Joey Stafford and Shawn Stafford, all of Chatsworth, Allison Stafford and Megan Stafford, both of Ringgold; one grandson, Blake Stafford of Chatsworth; four step-children, Joseph Duke, Christopher Cantrell, Christy Cantrell and Michael Cantrell of Dalton; one step-grandson, Aiden Cantrell of Dalton; brothers, Brian Stafford of Tennga, Mike Stafford of Cisco, Robert Stafford of Dalton, Garry Stafford of Douglasville; sister, Cynthia Stafford Shields of Cisco; aunts Mildred Stafford and France Brown, both of Crandall; uncles, John Adams and Thurman Walraven, both of Crandall.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Brown officiating.

Burial will be in the Bryant Cemetery in Whitfield County. The family received friends at the funeral home on Saturday.

Arrangements are by Shawn Chapman Funeral Home and Crematory in Chatsworth.
