DALTON —
Charles Edward “Dodie” Brown, 68, of Chatsworth, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Brown retired from Dalton Sheet Metal after 40 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Pearl Brown; brothers and sisters, Bill Brown, Beatie Liner and Patsy Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley F. Brown of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and Darrin Chancellor of Cartersville and Wanda and Wesley Cummings of Ranger; honorary son, Steven Carden of Atlanta; grandchildren, Lance Cpl. Aaron W. Roberts, Brandon Cummings, Holly Cummings, Anthony Roberts, Steve Roberts, Dylan Chancellor, J.W. Cummings; honorary grandson, Emerson Carson; great-grandchildren, Lillian Roberts and Lewis Roberts; siblings, James and Gloria Brown of Tunnel Hill; Paul and Helen Brown of Crandall, Bob and Hazel Brown of Rocky Face; Glenn and Doris Brown of Dalton; Johnny and Brenda Brown of Cohutta; sister-in-law, Susan Brown of Blue Ridge; special friends, Deb Carden of Dalton, Ember Ashby of Atlanta, Joshua Ellis of Ranger and all of his camping friends.
Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at Maple Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Thomason officiating;
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today after 4 p.m.
