Malvin H. ‘Mac’ Mitchell

Mr. Malvin H. “Mac” Mitchell, 88, of Dalton, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013.

He was the owner of Mac’s Barber Shop for approximately 45 years and was the oldest member of Center Point Baptist Church.

Mac was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Lee Grant Mitchell; and his grandsons, Clifton Mitchell and Dustin Darnell.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Gene Webb of Eton, Myra and Alvin Darnell of Rocky Face, and Connie and Mike Tidwell of Eton; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Patricia Mitchell of Eton; brother, Walter Mitchell; sister, Becky King, both of Dalton; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. George Ross officiating.

Burial will follow in Center Point Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home today from 5 to 8 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 200 W. Emery St., Suite 3, Dalton, GA 30720.
