Charles Thomas Cooper, 84, of Dalton, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at his residence

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Cooper and Winnie Cooper Wood; a sister, Patricia Smith; and a son, Kenneth Charles Cooper.

Mr. Cooper was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Cooper of the residence; a daughter, Charlene Norton of Dalton; sister, Elizabeth Brown of Dalton; sister-in-law, Olivene Godfrey of Chatsworth; brother-in-law, Jack Brown of Dalton; grandchildren, Dusty and William Norton; six great-grandchildren, Brad, Brandon, Bryson, Alexis, Tristian and Casey Norton.

The funeral is Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Gillean officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour at 4 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to Heart Lite Hospice, 1011 Abutment Road, Dalton, GA 30721.
