Hoyt Lester Parker

DALTON —

Mr. Hoyt Lester Parker, 68, of Chatsworth, departed this life Thursday evening, April 5, 2012, at his home.  

Hoyt was born Nov. 24, 1943, in Dalton, a son of the late Wesley and Minnie Painter Parker.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Springfield Parker; brothers, Charles, Lloyd, Glenn and C.R. Parker; sisters, Irene Roach and Lilly Mae Scott.  

He proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He was a carpenter by trade and formerly owned Parker’s Roofing Co.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Hoyt W. “Buddy”  and Theresa Parker of Chatsworth; daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda Mae and David Jones of Lawton, Okla., Melynda Faye and John Henderson of Resaca; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph L. and Edna Mae Parker of Chatsworth; sisters-in-law, Hazel Smith and Elizabeth Layman of Chatsworth; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Hoyt Lester Parker will be Monday at 4 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Minister Ed Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest at Harrison Chapel Cemetery in Chatsworth.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home after noon Monday until the funeral hour.
