Cecil R. Faw Sr., 89, of Dalton, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010, at Hamilton Medical Center.

Mr. Faw was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. He was also a WWII veteran and served in the European Theater and was a Purple Heart recipient.

Mr. Faw was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Runyan Faw; grandson, Jared Faw; parents, Sam and Pearl Faw; brothers, Joe, J.D., Ralph, and Albert Faw; sisters, Inez Dunlap, Sally Spivey, Thelma Satterfield, and Nannie Sue Faw.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Carol and Johnny Beason of Chatsworth, and Dianne Brown of Dalton;  a son, Ray “Butch” Faw of Dalton; grandchildren, Mark Brown, Heath and Carmen Faw, Melissa Beason, and Kevin Beason; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Alicia Brown; cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

A funeral to honor the life of Mr. Faw is Monday at 4 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Lamar Beason and the Rev. Charles “Bit” Parrish officiating.

Burial will be in Holly Creek Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 2 until 4 p.m.
