The justices return Monday with rulings ahead on affirmative action, gay marriage and voting rights.

2. WHICH PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE IS BETTER AT DEBATES

Obama says it’s Romney, who he calls “a good debater,” as both candidates prepare for Wednesday’s face-off.  

3. MOTORCYCLE BOMBER KILLS 14 IN AFGHANISTAN

The suicide attack targeted a joint patrol of Afghan and international forces; among those killed were three NATO service members and their translator.

4. WHERE GAY ‘CONVERSION’ THERAPY WILL BE BANNED

A new law, effective Jan. 1, will make California the first state to prohibit the practice for teens.

5. EX-GITMO PRISONER WANTS TO BE A NORMAL CANADIAN, LAWYER SAYS

First 26-year-old Omar Khadr will serve his remaining sentence for war crimes, although he’ll be eligible for parole as early as next summer.

The popular email service is back online in Iran, where authorities had blocked it in response to an anti-Islamic film posted on YouTube, which is owned by Google.

7. WHEN U.S. HOSPITALS WILL FACE EXTRA FINES

Starting Monday, Medicare will penalize facilities that readmit too many people within 30 days.

8. SCHWARZENEGGER BLAMES DIVORCE ON HIS SECRECY

The ex-governor, whose book comes out Monday, tells “60 Minutes” he traces his detachment to his bodybuilding days and his belief that emotions make athletes lose.

9. A BIG DAY FOR NOTORIOUS GUN SALES

Two toted by Bonnie and Clyde were snapped up at auction for a cool half-million, while a Butch Cassidy revolver went for $175,000.

10.  WHY EXPERTS SAY THE BACON SHORTAGE IS HOGWASH

This year’s drought will likely increase prices for bacon and other pork products by as much as 10 percent, but they’ll still be readily available.
