Whitfield County employees congratulate Jennifer Jones as the November 2007 Employee of the Month. Jennifer lives in Tunnel Hill and enjoys spending time with her mother, Ellen Grooms, her grandfather, Roy Russell and her boyfriend, Blake Jones.
Jennifer began her career with the Whitfield County Tax Assessor’s Office as a Real-Estate Data Collector in 1989. Jennifer was promoted to perform the duties of Personal Property Appraiser I in May of 1995. In 1996 she received her Appraiser II Certification and was promoted to serve as a Personal Property Appraiser II. In 2006, Jennifer attained her Appraiser III Certification from the Georgia Department of Revenue. She was then promoted to Senior Property Appraiser in the Personal Property Division. On July 1, 2007, she was appointed by the Board of Assessors to serve their Office as the Principal Property Appraiser /Personal Property Director and also serves as Secretary to the Board of Assessors. Jennifer is responsible for the oversight and valuation of a very detailed and complex Industrial and Commercial Personal Property Accounts which make up a very large portion of Whitfield County’s Tax Digest. Jennifer has served Whitfield County and the Tax Assessor’s Office with distinction and professionalism for over 18 years and is a valued employee to her Department Head and Staff.
