North Murray High could win tech grant

North Murray High School is in the running to win a $5,000 technology grant from Windstream, and even some students in neighboring school districts are working to help.

The public can vote at www.lifetimetour.com/topvideos.php for the school’s video. The schools with the most votes win.

“Thirty Classroom Connections ‘Spirit Awards’ finalists are vying for their share of $50,000 and you can help them win!” according to a statement on the site. “Ten schools will each receive $5,000 based on the number of votes their videos receive.”

One vote is allowed each day, and the deadline has recently been extended to Tuesday. The 10 winning schools will be notified this month. At New Hope Middle School in Whitfield County, students are allowed to log in and vote during their technology classes this week.

As of about noon on Wednesday, North Murray had 2,361 votes, putting the school in 10th place but only slightly ahead of several other schools.
