WRCB-TV Channel 3 will host a public meeting on bullying on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m. at the Chatsworth/Murray County Public Safety Training Center, 663 Highway 52 W. in Chatsworth. WRCB anchor David Carroll will moderate the event.
“We will allow all interested parties to speak, as we seek positive ways to impact a problem that has been identified as a major issue in our schools and in our communities,” Carroll said. “My goal is to provide a chance for everyone with an interest in this issue to be heard. In light of recent news events, I think it will be an important meeting for Murray County.”
Tyler Long, a 17-year-old Murray County High School student, committed suicide on Oct. 17 and his parents say he was taunted and physically abused at the school and that school system officials didn’t address their concerns about it.
Carroll has invited superintendent Vickie Reed, school board members, elected officials and representatives of law enforcement agencies to participate.
