The American Cancer Society in Murray County is looking for new teams for the 2010 Relay for Life. The rally for the 2010 Relay will be on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Appalachian Bank Community Center on Green Road in Chatsworth.
Organizers say Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs for the American Cancer Society. Teams gather at the Murray County Saddle Club and take turns walking laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. The 2009 Relay for Life raised $97,000, a 41 percent increase over 2008.
