Citizens wishing to address the board during public participation must complete the participation form located next to the agendas. While the board of education welcomes public comment and participation, specific complaints about individual employees are not proper subjects for board of education review or action and should be addressed instead to the superintendent or the employee’s supervisor. Speakers are cautioned that comments which they publicly make against individually named employees could give rise to liability against the speaker if the comments are slanderous or defamatory. Comments are limited to three to five minutes.
