DALTON — CHATSWORTH — More than 60 people have been arrested after a raid on a cockfighting site on Berry Bennett Road Saturday morning, Murray County Sheriff Howard Ensley said.
“We are still processing them. That’s probably going to go on for at least part of the night,” Ensley said. “Most everyone that was arrested has been charged with cruelty to animals and gambling. We have two people charged with drugs.”
He said the site in the south end of the county has been under investigation for some time. He added that the investigation is still under way and there may be further arrests.
No further details were available at press time.
