A 27-year-old man is in the Murray County jail without bond after authorities say he sent an inappropriate picture to a 14-year-old girl on her cellphone.
Leonard Lee Wilcox, 27, of 2155 Highway 225 N., Lot 111, Chatsworth, was charged Wednesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with obscene material distributed to a minor.
According to an incident report, the girl’s father found text messages Wilcox had sent to the girl’s phone, including one that was a picture of Wilcox’s crotch. The report states the messages were sent on Monday at about 9 p.m.
According to state law, electronically furnishing obscene material to minors is a “misdemeanor of a high and aggravated nature.”
