More arrests possible from cockfighting raid

DALTON — More than 60 people have been arrested in connection with a cockfighting raid in southern Murray County Saturday morning and more may be arrested, Sheriff Howard Ensley said on Sunday.

Officers have been investigating the site on Berry Bennett Road for several months leading up to Saturday’s raid, Ensley said. He said no details of the raid will be released until after a meeting with investigators this morning.

Arrested Saturday in connection with the cockfighting were:

• Erasmo Moreno Adame, 53, 3628 Timothy Drive, Dalton, charged with gambling and cruelty to animals.

• Jose Alberto Adame, 39, 179 North Pass, Chatsworth, charged with gambling and cruelty to animals.

• Juan Francisco Adame, 46, 179 North Pass, Chatsworth, charged with gambling and cruelty to animals.

• Mauricico Arana-Diaz, 58, 915 Church St., S.E., Smyrna, charged with gambling and cruelty to animals.

• Marvin Oscar Bagley, 78, 510 Ballground Road, Chatsworth, charged with gambling and cruelty to animals.

• Wanda Fenwick Bagley, 51, 1206 Loughridge Road, Chatsworth, charged with cruelty to animals.
