The Dalton City Council voted 3-0 Monday night to renew its contract to provide school resource officers for Dalton Public Schools.
The Dalton Police Department will continue to provide three police officers to the school system. They will be stationed and primarily serve at Dalton High School, Morris Innovative High School and Dalton Middle School.
The one-year contract calls for the school system to pay the city $124,287.
Council members also voted 3-0 to:
• Approve a purchase order for a ladder truck for the fire department. The council approved in January a five-year lease-purchase agreement for the truck that will pay Leasing 2 Inc. $237,720 a year.
• Approve a beer pouring license for Restaurante Bar El Jarocho.
Mayor David Pennington was absent, and when acting as mayor pro tem, council member Dick Lowrey votes only during a tie.
