Area arrests

• James Douglas Evans, 41, 1849 Cherokee Valley Road, Ringgold, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault.

• Brent Avington James, 44, 405 Mosedale Drive, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with possession and use of drug-related objects, use of safety belts in passenger vehicles and use of license plate to conceal identity of vehicle.

• Danny Lee Ogles, 52, 3641 Lake Kathy Road, Tunnel Hill, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault with a gun.

• Benjamin Patton Renz, 25, 1916 W. Brookhaven Circle, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with drugs not in original container, two counts of sale/distribution or possession of dangerous drugs, two counts of possession of a schedule 4 drug, possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession to distribute a schedule 3/4/5 drug, possession of marijuana, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, giving false statements/concealing facts with the government, possession and use of drug-related objects and tampering with evidence.

• Natasha Kaye Walker, 23, 713 Happy St., Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with drugs not in original container, use of communication facilities in drug transactions, possession of a schedule 2 drug, two counts of sale/distribution or possession of dangerous drugs, possession to distribute a schedule 3/4/5 substance, two counts of possession to distribute a schedule 4 substance, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of marijuana, giving false statements/concealing facts with the government, tampering with evidence and possession and use of drug-related objects.

• Richard Jordan Lamar DeFoor, 27, 234 Stindle Drive-2, Calhoun, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with theft by taking.

• James Allen Hyde, 38, 1106 Park Ave., Cleveland, Tenn., was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI, giving a false name/address/date of birth to a law officer, an open container violation, failure to maintain lane, driving while license is suspended or revoked and no insurance.

• Donald Joseph King, 40, 1826 Greeson Drive, Rocky Face, was charged Saturday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI and a safety belt violation.

• Jeffery Allen Mize, 52, 1234 N. Hamilton St., Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with aggravated stalking and battery.

• Alvaro Sanchez, 21, 1011 E. Willowpark Drive, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of cocaine.
