A Chatsworth man accused of holding a convenience store employee in Murray County at knife point to rob from the cash register is in jail.
Joey Lebron Kilgore, 34, of 514 Cherokee Drive, was charged Monday by the sheriff’s office with aggravated assault and armed robbery.
According to an incident report, Kilgore entered the Kangaroo at 3120 Ga. Highway 52 Alternate on Thursday around 3:30 a.m. wearing a hood over his face. The report states he grabbed a female clerk by the wrist, held a knife with a 5- or 6-inch blade in the other hand and ordered her to give him the money from the cash register.
The clerk began to do so, then Kilgore started grabbing the money himself and ran away with $121, according to the report. Deputies searched the area for him but lost track.
“He was located Sunday evening in Jasper, Tenn., in Marion County, and they picked him up for us,” said sheriff’s office Capt. John Cherry.
Kilgore was still in jail without bond as of Monday afternoon.
