Restaurant report card — Whitfield County

Whitfield County Environmental Health conducts inspections of restaurants every three months. The inspectors may require a re-inspection. Restaurants are required by law to post their most recent inspection permit.

The Daily Citizen lists areas where the establishments are out of compliance with the regulations.



Coahulla Creek High School, 3361 Crow Road

Comments: Couple of gaskets torn. Replace torn gaskets. Do not put liners in drawers.

Comments: Chicken at 118 degrees. Hold potentially hazardous food at 135 degrees or higher. Check freezer for leaks. Reseal loose floor tiles. Hand sink takes too long for water to heat up. Recommend a small hot water heater for that sink.



Los Caporales Mexican Cuisine, 603 Fleming St.

Comments: Employee with drink in regular cup. Drink must be single-service cup with lid and straw. Beans at 46.5 degrees after 24 hours. Hot foods must be cooled to 70 degrees in first two hours and then to 41 degrees in total of six hours. Repair walls.

Comments: Observed employee go on tractor trailer, return and put on gloves without washing hands. No paper towels at hand sink. None of the foods in coolers are dated. Put use-by date on foods. Store food/drink 6 inches up off floor. Do not put soiled ware on top of clean. Restrooms must be power vented. Service Ansul.
