A Chatsworth woman has been charged in a wreck that sent a motorcyclist to a Chattanooga hospital in critical condition.
Micah Ingram, 27, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with failure to yield. Officials said Ingram was trying to make a left turn from Glenwood Avenue onto Hawthorne Street on Sept. 21 when her van collided with a motorcycle operated by Jacob Meyer, 24, of Dalton. A phone number for Ingram could not be found.
Meyer was still in critical condition at Erlanger Medical Center Monday afternoon, but police officer Steve Zahn said he “is expected to recover.” Zahn said “failure to yield” is expected to be the only charge.
“In order to charge someone with serious injury by vehicle, you would need to have additional charges such as reckless driving or DUI,” he said.
