DPD investigating motorcycle/van crash

One flown to Chattanooga hospital

The Dalton Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating a crash that involved a motorcycle and van at the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Hawthorne Street at 7:40 Friday evening. A van driven by Micah Ingram, 27, of Chatsworth attempted to make a left-hand turn from Glenwood Avenue onto Hawthorne Street and was struck in the passenger side by a motorcycle driven by Jacob Meyer, 24, of Dalton.

Meyer was taken to Hamilton Medical Center and then flown to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga with unknown injuries. Ingram was the only passenger in the van and was uninjured.

 The crash investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
