From Staff Reports
Police are investigating the death of a Chatsworth man who was found dead inside the well of a tanker truck Saturday.
Brian Scotty Williams, 37, was found inside the tanker Saturday afternoon at New South Distribution, 2200 Abutment Road, according to Whitfield County Coroner Bobbie Dixon.
Initial reports indicate that Williams was cleaning the tanker of waste water at New South and his body was discovered by his girlfriend who was bringing him food.
“There’s no indication of any suspicious activity but investigators are looking into what happened,” said Lt. Chris Cooke, spokesman for the Dalton Police Department.
The body was taken to the State Crime Lab for examination, which is standard procedure in such cases.
“We won’t know anything until we get the results back from them,” Dixon said.
She said Whitfield Emergency Medical Service got the call around 4:48 p.m. The body was taken to Hamilton Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 6:09 p.m.
